“Almost Every Apple Music Spot Is Bought”- Magixx Laments Decline Of New Stars

“Fear of Embarrassment Is a Major Barrier to Success” - Magixx

Singer Magixx has said that streaming farms are the reason for the decline in the number of breakout artists in the Nigerian music industry in recent years.

He claimed that most of the positions on music charts and streaming platforms have been “bought,” making it hard for upcoming artists to get attention.

On his X handle, he wrote:

“Just so y’all know, the reason why we don’t have enough breakout artists these days is because almost every spot on Apple Music is bought!”

Reports have continued to surface in the music industry accusing some artists of using bots or automated systems to increase the number of plays their songs or albums get. This is despite some notable industry figures denying the existence of streaming farms.

Last year, Magixx’s boss and Mavin Records CEO, Don Jazzy, dismissed the claims that he uses streaming farms to boost streams for his artists. He also insisted that streaming farms don’t exist, and even if they do, he does not use them.
