A heated exchange has erupted between controversial activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) and street-hop artist Portable, following VDM’s criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
VDM had openly addressed President Tinubu, expressing frustration over Nigeria’s economic situation. He warned that if conditions don’t improve, Tinubu might end up being remembered like the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
This didn’t sit well with Portable, who jumped to Tinubu’s defence and slammed VDM, saying:
“VeryDarkMan, it won’t be well with you. Before, you used to drink sachet water, but since Tinubu came in, you’re now drinking bottled water. That shows he is working as a president.”
Not backing down, VDM quickly fired back with a stinging reply. He referenced an old clip from 2020, in which Portable was reportedly beaten after allegedly trying to steal a tricycle (keke), and said:
“Portable, look at your video from 2020 when you went to steal a keke. See how badly you were beaten. You’re insulting me, someone who already owned a car and keke since 2020. You claimed I only bought them under Tinubu’s regime. I don’t blame you.”
He went further to accuse Portable of being used by politicians to spread propaganda:
“You, who once tried to steal a keke, can now be paid by politicians to defend nonsense. I didn’t insult President Tinubu I spoke out of pain, highlighting what Nigerians are going through, especially with insecurity.”
Continuing his response, VDM questioned how much Portable was paid:
“How much did they give you? Go and ask them how much they offered me to be on their side. The government doesn’t rate Nigerians, which is why they’d choose someone like you to speak for them. They think Nigerians are fools.”
He concluded with a stern warning:
“You had the audacity to say I’m doing too much. If we ever meet one-on-one without security, I’ll use your face to clean the ground.”
