[A MUST SEE] Checkout Nigerian Artists Who Have Gotten Into Trouble With The Law In Foreign Countries

Nigerian artists and controversies are like 5 & 6 with them even getting into trouble with the law not only in Nigeria but in foreign countries.

Mp3bullet compiles a list of Nigerian artists that have landed into troubles with the law in other countries.

Wizkid

According to reports in Kenya from 2014, Wizkid was invited by the authorities for questioning and testing regarding the use of illegal substances in their country.

Wizkid allegedly got into a violent argument with a hotel front desk employee after being instructed not to smoke the prohibited narcotic in their hotel. The singer was eventually turned over to the authorities and later released with another vocalist, Victoria Kimani.

2016 saw the issuance of an arrest warrant for Wizkid in connection with the postponement of his concerts in Uganda, as well as a Ugandan court’s decision for his detention.

In 2021, Wizkid was also reportedly gripped by the arms of the law in Ghana for flouting some regulations in the country.

Wizkid was seen in some viral videos with his hand placed humbly behind him while he answers questions by the police beside their patrol car.

Moments after the video went viral, rumor came out that the music icon was arrested for the possession of illegal substance, marijuana to be specific.

Dammy Krane

Dammy Krane was tipped to be the upcoming superstar of Nigerian music. Prior to his arrest in 2017, he was a signed artist to 2baba’s Hypertek recordings and on the verge of becoming one of Nigeria’s top stars.

He was accused of attempting to book a private jet with an American jet company, Tapjets, using five different credit cards that were not his.

In Miami, he was taken into custody and accused of stealing and fraudulently using credit cards. After satisfying the conditions of his $7,500 bond, he was eventually released from custody. He has entered a not guilty plea and requested a jury trial in response to the charges.

Davido

In 2019, there were unconfirmed reports that Davido has been arrested in Dubai for allegedly inflicting injuries on a supposed fan’s head.

According to the reports on Twitter, the victim had reportedly approached an already tipsy Davido in an elevator. Things didn’t go as planned as the music star got infuriated and broke a bottle on the victim’s head.

The police were called in, immediately and the music star was arrested while the victim was rushed to the Kuwait hospital in Deira. While Davido didn’t respond to the accusations, the singer shared a photo of himself in a private jet on his Instagram page the next day.

Tems & Omah Lay

Nigerian singers, Omah Lay and Tems, were arrested in 2021 by officers of the Uganda police in Kampala for flouting covid-19 guidelines.

They were arrested shortly after their performance at The Big Brunch, a concert that was held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd, Kampala.

In their statement, the Ugandan police alleged that the organisers of the concert first held lunch and dinner events, but later on at night started inviting artists to perform.

This incident led to an online protest by Nigeraisna on social media demanding the Ugandan authorities release them. After the Nigerian Federal government waded into the matter, the two were eventually released.

Bella Shmurda

In 2021, Bella Shmurda was arrested, deported, and banned from Ghana after the Adjabeng Circuit Court sitting in Accra found him guilty of attacking a doctor with a fork while in quarantine.

He was deported together with two others, Ramsey Omeofe and Jubreel Abimbola, who were also fined GH2,000 each. According to Sahara Reporters, they were also prohibited from visiting Ghana for three months.

Bella Shmurda and the two others were claimed to have become angry and attacked the doctor after being placed in quarantine for testing positive for COVID-19.

Kizz Daniel

Recently, Kizz Daniel made headlines after his failure to perform at a concert in Tanzania led to the destruction of properties by angry fans.

The organisers of the Summer Amplified Show in Tanzania have arrested the Buga hitmaker for failing to perform at the well-publicised show on Sunday night.

‘The Citizen’, a Tanzania publication, reports that the singer failed to show up at the Summer Amplified concert at the Warehouse Arena (formerly Next Door Arena) in Dar es Salaam.

A viral video on Twitter shows the singer wearing a black hoodie while being escorted into a Tanzanian police van.
