Mavin Records founder, Michael Collins Ajereh also known as Don Jazzy has said he regrets his altercation with Hip Hop star, Olamide Adedeji at the 2015 Headies Award.
He stated during an episode of BBNaija’s Doyin Corner, that the moment it happened he felt bad instantly while stepping down from the stage.
“There was the Headies incident, it was out of character and I regretted that instantly as soon as I came down from the stage. I have also apologised to Olamide and the event organisers,” he said.
Don Jazzy and Olamide had a public disagreement at the 2015 Headies Awards ceremony in Nigeria. The disagreement started after Reekado Banks was announced as the winner of the Next Rated Award, which Olamide felt should have gone to his artist Lil Kesh.
Olamide expressed his displeasure on stage, and Don Jazzy, who was also on stage, responded by saying that everyone should respect the decision of the organizers.
The situation escalated quickly, and both artists engaged in a heated argument, with Olamide even throwing insults at Don Jazzy. However, the situation was later resolved backstage, and both artists reconciled.
After the incident, Don Jazzy posted a message on Twitter apologizing to fans for his behavior and stating that he had no intention of disrespecting anyone. Olamide also posted a message on Twitter stating that he had no beef with Don Jazzy and that they had settled their differences.
