Being supported by rave singer Tems, the song has been certified ‘double platinum’ in the United States.

This will be the first African song to go multi-platinum in the country.

This will not be the first time “Essence” makes big news. In December 2021, Time Magazine has crowned the second-best song of the year.

In that same December 2021, the song topped RollingStone’s list.
