Joeboy is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was discovered him in 2017 by Mr. Eazi.
The 24-year-old singer’s new song “Alcohol” released on the 24th of September has been trending on Tiktok and other social media networks since its release.
This led to a viral challenge where fans were seen pouring harmful substances like bleach on their bodies with some even going to the extent of drinking Dettol.
Nigerians Reactions:
Some Nigerian social media users have called for the arrest of Joeboy over the viral challenge.
“Joeboy deserves to be arrested for coming up with the challenge and risking people’s lives” they said.
I think yesterday, if I’m not mistaken, a disturbing video of a Nigerian female tik-toker surface on the internet. Instead of using Alcohol, she drank Dettol and poured some all over her body.
A few moment later, a video of the girl convulsing and foaming on her month hit the internet. No one knows if she survived or not.
Who Should Be Blamed – Joeboy or His Fans?
First off, how could a normal human being with a brain use substances like Antiseptic, Bleach, Soup, Palm oil while vibing to the so called “Alcohol Challenge?”.
Is it that Nigerians don’t understand English or something? The young man said Alcohol not Dettol.

Did you see anything else rather than Alcohol in that lyrics?
Come to think of it, most of the “Alcohol Challenge” participants are teenage girls and boys. So I’m wondering what could be bothering these children.
The singer is 24, rich, independent, pouring out his inner feelings and other personal real life issues.
You’re under 18, still living with your mama and papa, you don’t pay bills or rent. You still dey chop “mama thank you”. So tell me what your problem is. Who dey disturb you? What are you taking alcohol for? Which sorrow u wan forget?
Una no just get sense for this country sha.
And for those pressing for Joeboy arrest, una no get sense. Secondly, una no get work. Shay “I sip my alcohol” sound like “I sip my Dettol” for ur ear? Abi u tie wrapper for ear ni.
