Patoranking Is The New Olamide! (See Why)

While Olamide has gone completely laid-back and is currently perfecting his pop star impression, a new one has emerged, and this might just be the best since the emergence of Baddo.

I’m talking about none other than the well-loved Patoranking. Well, word on the streets is that the guy’s on some new sh*t. And, on this one, he’s got the streets with him.

For a guy whose first real hit was a lovey-dovey song with Tiwa SavagePatoranking sure has had a rather weird progression. In 2018, just around when he dropped his sophomore album, for instance, he was still a lover boy. But fast forward to 2020 and he has one of the hottest songs on the streets, “Abule,” a single off his third studio album also released in 2020.

It’s now 2021 and anyone can barely understand what he’s doing. First, he starts the year with the viral jam, “Celebrate Me” a song that became a hit because of its relatable content. Now, it doesn’t look like he’s gearing for an album anytime soon. If he was, there’d be more than one song up already for sure. What he’s been doing so far is making his mark on the streets though. He’s doing the kind of stuff he’s not really known for.

Within a space of two weeks, he’s been featured on two jams. On these two jams, he was really rapping like he’s some kind of street artist and he’s been doing this for a while. In simpler words, he’s been doing the kind of stuff you’d find Olamide doing back in the day.

First, he was on Ycee’s “Aunty Lovina” rapping the chorus and assisting Ycee to get an uptempo jam that just might rock the streets this fall. And just days ago, he was on another song doing almost this time. Except this time, he didn’t need no Ycee to rap the verses for him. He did it all by himself. The song I’m talking about is DJ Xclusive’s “Gaza.”

While these two songs may go under the radar because there’s not really a lot that sticky about them, Patoranking is most certainly not going anywhere. If he continues to do this stuff, perhaps we’ve finally got someone that can rock the streets like Olamide did. And what’s more, it’s not gonna be a bonafide rapper, it’s gonna be better. It’s gonna be Patoranking!
